Adopt a Graduate is an amazing volunteering opportunity that allows you to offer guidance and support to a CWC Scholar graduate in 2023. As a volunteer, your role is to provide emotional support and advice to a graduate who is about to embark on a new chapter in their life.
The volunteering period runs from May 15 to June 16, during which you will be required to send at least two supportive emails to your assigned graduate. The emails should include words of encouragement, advice, and fun notes to help your graduate transition smoothly into their next phase of life.
To commemorate this significant milestone, we ask volunteers to provide their assigned graduate with a token of acknowledgment, such as a gift valued at less than $20. This gesture will show your graduate that you recognize their hard work and dedication in achieving their academic goals.
You also have the option to schedule a call or video chat with your graduate at least once before June 10. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know your graduate better and provide more personalized advice and support.
Volunteers also have the option to attend the annual Graduate Lunch on Friday, June 2 from 12 p.m.- 2 p.m in the Chamber Center on the DU campus. This event is optional but provides a great opportunity to meet your graduate in person and celebrate their success with other volunteers and graduates.
