Description: The Career & Professional Development team is looking for tech-savvy alumni to practice virtual interviewing with students for our upcoming Mock Interview Day. The mock interviews are an opportunity for students to practice answering common interview questions
Process: Alumni interviewers will conduct two 15-minute virtual mock interviews during a one-hour Zoom period. The 15-minute virtual interviews may be followed by up to 10 minutes of constructive feedback on the student's interviewing style and virtual surroundings.
Goal: Help students build confidence and identify areas of improvement as they prepare for job interviews.
Qualifications:
- Access to Zoom
- Ability to conduct the virtual mock interview like a real interview (imagination and role-playing skills are helpful!)
- Willingness to provide feedback and encouragement
Audience: The attendees include a mix of undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni from a variety of majors. Some may be mid-career and bring some industry or job-specific questions with them that they’d like to practice, and for others this may be the first time they’ve experienced an interview.
Sign up: To RSVP to be a virtual interviewer, please click the "RESPOND" button. You will receive a confirmation email from VolunteerDU within 24 hours. 48 hours prior to the Mock Interview Day you will receive an email with more information and sample interview questions.
If you have questions please email Kyle Inselman, Assistant Director of Career & Professional Development.
