Lead Incoming Students in a Beloved DU Tradition!
Join fellow DU alumni on the floor of Magness Arena during Convocation to welcome the Class of 2030 and lead the crowd in singing “Country Roads,” a beloved DU tradition that has brought generations of Pioneers together.
After move-in day, Convocation is one of the first moments when new students truly feel part of the DU community. Seeing alumni there to welcome them sends a powerful message: the DU community doesn’t end at graduation—it just keeps going!!

Shift Details
- 4:00 PM – Doors open; mingle with fellow alumni volunteers
- 4:30 PM – Depart together for Convocation at Magness Arena
- 5:00–6:00 PM – Convocation & sing “Country Roads”!
- 6:00–8:00 PM – Optional: Stay for a free dinner and connect with new students and families
Parking

- Lot I (recommended, free): No permit needed to park free of charge. It's about a 10-minute walk to Burwell Center. Please communicate to discoveries@du.edu for any assistance requests.
- Street parking: Closer to Burwell, but first-come, first-served and not guaranteed. Expect heavy traffic in the area due to move-in day.
Check-In & Dress Code
- Please arrive at Burwell Center for Career Achievement between 4pm - 4:30pm.
- Dress Code: DU Spirit! Wear your favorite DU gear.
