This event will give you the opportunity to work alongside the Wash Park horticulturalists and other members of the Denver community, to perform pollinator bed maintenance. Tasks will include cutting back vegetation from last season and removing weeds. This will help set the gardens up for success this year, so that our pollinators will have great quality habitat to thrive!
What to expect:
- Hands-on Gardening: Get your hands dirty and help revive the Wash Park pollinator beds.
- Learn and connect: Connect with fellow students, faculty, staff and others in the Denver community who share your passion for sustainability and pollinators. All while learning about gardening and the importance of pollinators in our local ecosystems.
- Make a difference: By participating in this revitalization, you'll directly contribute to the thriving of our local pollinators (bees, hummingbirds, and other insects) and the ecological health of our entire community.
What to bring:
- Comfortable closed-toed shoes are required.
- Snacks and water to keep you comfortable.
- Sunscreen.
- Gardening/work gloves, if you have them.
- Long pants are recommended.
- Tools will be provided, but if you have preferred ones, bring those.
- Please bring printed or electronic proof of your signed waiver.
