The Office of Admissions is seeking DU Family Ambassadors to support Journey to DU, an event designed to help admitted students and their families make their college decision. As a Family Ambassador, you will play a key role in welcoming prospective families, sharing your experiences, and answering questions about life at DU.
Volunteer Role & Responsibilities
As a DU Family Ambassador, you will:
- Serve on a Family Panel (11:15–11:45 a.m.) during breakout sessions, sharing insights and answering questions about the DU experience. This session will take place in Anderson Academic Commons, Room 290 (AAC 290).
- Engage with prospective families at the Campus & Student Life Fair (1:00–2:00 p.m.) in Community Commons Grand Forum (CCOM 1700), helping them learn more about resources and opportunities at DU.
Schedule & Logistics
- Check-in & Welcome: 10:30 a.m. at New Student & Family Programs office (CCOM 1200)
- Walk to Anderson Academic Commons: 10:45 a.m.
- Family Panel: 11:15–11:45 a.m. (AAC 290)
- Lunch Break: 12:00–1:00 p.m. (Ambassadors are welcome to enjoy lunch in the dining hall, which will be provided, or take a break off campus.)
- Campus & Student Life Fair: 1:00–2:00 p.m. (CCOM 1700)
Who Should Volunteer?
We are looking for engaged and enthusiastic DU Family Ambassadors who are willing to share their experiences and insights with prospective families. No prior panel experience is necessary—just a willingness to connect and offer an authentic perspective on life at DU.
Training & Support
To ensure you feel prepared, we will provide a brief training session ahead of the event. A New Student & Family Programs staff member will also be available throughout the day to provide support.
