Are you interested in furthering research surrounding the effects of concussions in athletes?
The University of Denver and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical campus are collaborating to study the effects of concussions in athletes. The overall purpose of this multi-disciplinary program is to allows us to discover and develop preventative treatment paradigms that may reduce the impact of multiple concussions throughout life. Multiple concussions can increase the risk for dementia or other brain-related disabilities. This program can have a major impact on long-term treatment of athletes or service men/women with multiple concussions.
For this study, we are looking for adults who:
- Formerly played a field, court, or contact sport in the NCAA as a professional.
OR
- Have never played a field, court, or contact sport in any capacity as an adult.
The testing session in the Human Dynamics Lab will last approximately 2 hours. During the session you will perform balance tests, eye tracking tests, memory games, and have your blood drawn.
The study pays $40 for your participation.
