The Korbel Alumni Council strives for a broad representation of the school’s alumni community and seeks representation from various backgrounds, degree programs, regions, and industries. Most council meetings occur via zoom.
We ask that Council members have the following:
- A graduate of a Korbel program (BA, MA, MPP, MGS, MIM/IMBA, IIC, MDP, PhD including Paul D. Coverdell Peace Corps Fellows Program, Peace Corps master's International Program and Dual degree programs with Law, Business and Social Work)
- Willing to engage in 80% of council meetings per year and assume all of the responsibilities of an Alumni Council member for two years.
Responsibilities include participating on Council initiatives which fall under the strategic objectives of the Council:
- Foster an alumni community based on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Provide a network and rewarding opportunities for alumni to be active in the affairs of the Korbel School and to deepen engagement with the Korbel School, students, and faculty.
- Help students and alumni expand their professional networks and serve as a resource for career development and mentoring.
- Assist with the recruitment of students, increasing interest and offering support to prospective students.
- Raise the global visibility of the Korbel School.
- Promote and increase the value of the Korbel School to its alumni.
- Cultivate a culture of philanthropy.
- Recognize alumni achievements and alumni service.
Individuals interested in the Alumni Council may self-nominate or be nominated by someone else.
