Volunteer: Serve as Network Leader - Southern California

We're looking for DU community members in the southern California who are interested in serving as Network Leaders. A Network Leader is a DU alumnus/alumna or parent who works alongside other Network Leaders and their designated staff liaison to create ongoing, meaningful engagement opportunities and helps strengthen bridges between their network and the University.

As a Network Leader, your activities support DU's global networks by facilitating meaningful communications, connections, experiences, and volunteer leadership opportunities to ensure the ongoing engagement with DU community members in your network.

Responsibilities include:

Meetings

Attend at least 75% of all quarterly network leader calls hosted by DU’s Regional Advancement & Volunteer Engagement team. Attend at least 75% of all network planning meetings.

Annual Planning

 Create an annual plan that details network goals and activities for the year and send to your staff liaison prior to the start of the fall academic quarter

Events

Plan and host at least two events per academic year that appeal to the diverse DU community and fall in one of the following categories: signature, educational, professional, service, social, family-friendly, or cultural. Attend at least 50% of all planned network events. Complete the following tasks within 10 business days of an event: Upload event photos to your network folder on the Google Drive, complete and submit the Post-Event Report to your staff liaison, and work with your staff liaison to send a thank you email to event attendees.

Ambassadorship

Regularly network with key alumni, parents, and supporters in the community. Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni, parents, and supporters who are looking to get involved with the network. Connect with prospective or incoming students and families to share information about DU and your experience as a student/alumni/parent. Promote network events and activities through your social media channels and personal DU connections.

Volunteer Recruitment

Recruit volunteer leaders and maintain a pipeline of prospective volunteers to fill future openings. Facilitate an orientation for incoming members of the leadership team in partnership with their staff liaison.

Leadership

Serve as the main point of contact for the network and delegate responsibilities to other members of the network leadership team. Respond to emails from your staff liaison within 5 business days.

Student Engagement

Provide career mentorship to current students or recent graduates.
