Are you a Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) alumnus/a? Do you enjoy connecting with students and sharing your personal, professional, and educational journey? We’re looking for passionate GSSW alumni to provide insight to prospective students about where a social degree can lead, and share their experiences studying at DU.

For prospective students, someone who has already graduated from the program is a powerful resource. As an alumnus/a, you can not only give general information, but insider information like “why did you come here,” “what classes did you like best,” and even “which dining hall has the best food?” You can offer real, tangible testimonials that impact a student’s decision to inquire, apply, and eventually enroll.

Meetings can take place in person, virtually via Zoom, or on the phone, depending on your preference and schedule. Express interest and we will be in touch with more information and next steps.

Are you a Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) alumni or supporter who works in the field and enjoys providing guidance and support to students? We invite you to connect with current GSSW students and provide guidance and support through professional networking. Volunteer mentors will provide advice and insights on an informal basis and help students to get closer to achieving their career goals.

Are you a GSSW alumnus/a who enjoys reading and facilitating discussions around social work themes? Are you interested in selecting a book and preparing discussion prompts for an upcoming book club session? The GSSW Alumni Council invites you to join them as a Volunteer Facilitator.

The GSSW Book Club offers alumni an opportunity to strengthen relationships and network while enhancing their knowledge and understanding of social work topics. They meet virtually once a quarter.

Volunteer facilitators select a book and prepare questions to keep the group engaged in a 1-hour discussion.

Calling all Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) supporters! We are seeking volunteers to host a happy hour or dinner party with GSSW students looking to enter the field of social work.  These opportunities allow students to interact with alumni from different social work-related fields and backgrounds in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. 

If you love hosting gatherings and socializing with members of the DU community, this is a perfect way to give back to your alma mater and forge lasting connections with GSSW students and alumni.
